Privacy Policy

Privacy Pledge
At CBC Federal Credit Union, we strive to earn and keep our members’ trust, so keeping your personal information secure is a top priority. The following privacy policy explains how we collect, use and safeguard your personal financial information.
Member Information We Collect
In the process of providing you with our products and services, we collect certain non-public personal information about you from the following sources:
•  Applications.  We retain information from your membership,
service and loan applications or forms.
•  Transactions. We retain information about your transactions by branch, telephone, Internet banking, check, ATM or debit card.
•  Credit Reports.  We retain information obtained from a consumer reporting agency or when verifying your applications or other forms.
•  Online. We retain information about your account access,
transactions and e-mail communication.
Member Information We Share
We may disclose all of the information that we collect from you as described below. Information about former members is only disclosed if required to enforce or administer an account or as required or allowed by law.
As Permitted by Law.  We share your information with certain third parties as permitted by law in order to process transactions on your behalf, administer or enforce your account, conduct the operations of our credit union, or protect the security of our financial records. Third parties include, but are not limited to, data or payment processing companies and consumer reporting or collection agencies. We may also share your information in response to a lawful request issued by a court, government agency, or regulatory authority, or as required by law.
Credit Union Marketing and Service Providers.  We may share your information with companies that perform marketing and other services for us, such as printing, mailing, and analysis. These third party service providers act on our behalf and have agreed in writing, to keep the member information we provide to them confidential and to use it only in the manner in which we have instructed. We share information only as necessary for the specific services being used.
Joint Marketing Partners. In order to offer you a variety of quality services and greater convenience, we may share your information with financial institutions with which we have joint marketing agreements. These financial institutions have agreed in writing, to keep the member information we provide to them confidential and to use it only in the manner in which we have instructed. We never sell any member information. See “Important Privacy Choices for Consumers” for details on how to be excluded from these joint marketing offers. Please understand that, even if you opt out, the credit union itself may continue to provide you with information on products and services offered by our financial services affiliate, CBC Services Organization, and non-affiliated third parties.
How We Protect Your Information
The Credit Union has procedures in place to ensure both the accu­racy of our records and the security of your personal information. We restrict access to your personal information to those employees who have a specific business purpose in utilizing your data. Our employ­ees are trained in the importance of maintaining confidentiality and member privacy. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations and leading indus­try practices to protect your non-public personal information. We will continue to review these measures on a regular basis and make changes as appropriate.
Online Privacy and Security
All application forms, all internet banking (PC Access) transactions and all online bill payments (SmartPay) use the leading industry-standard security protocol for data transfer on the internet.  SmartPay transactions are forwarded to our bill payment vendor who adheres to strict confidentiality requirements and uses the information only for the purposes of processing payments at your request.

For your security, e-mails sent to CBC from the website are encrypted.  Additionally, we will only use your e-mail address to respond to your e-mail or to provide specific CBC information.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any linked websites.

IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT POLICY CHANGE:
There have been minor technical corrections made to the Privacy Policy since it was last distributed on July 1, 2009. Any previous
opt-out requests, however, remain in effect. THEREFORE IF YOU HAVE PREVIOUSLY OPTED OUT YOU NEED NOT DO SO AGAIN.
