5 tips for managing money during the COVID-19 pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic has people worried for a number of reasons — chiefly their health, but also their financial futures. Millions continue to file for unemployment, and people all over the world are feeling heavy financial strain and the stress of job insecurity. The most recent Bureau of Labor Statistics monthly jobs report showed that the U.S.

New perks for all members!

We are in this together, that’s why we’re pleased to extend pharmacy, vision, hearing savings and identity theft protection to all of CBC’s members who don’t already have these benefits in their checking accounts until December 31, 2020.

US Stimulus Package Payments

Many CBC members are expecting to receive financial relief from the government in the form of a stimulus payment (also known as Economic Impact Payments or EIP) via direct deposit or a physical check from the IRS. The IRS began distribution of these payments on Wednesday, April 15 and will continue in waves over the next few weeks. The IRS determines these payment waves, and CBC Federal Credit Union does not know who will be in each wave.
 

The Perks of a Credit Union Checking Account

On the surface, checking accounts are many people’s hubs for their personal finances. They help them pay their monthly bills and manage their daily expenses and purchases. That’s because checking account holders have access to online and mobile banking, nationwide ATMs and debit cards and personal checks to make purchases or withdraw funds from their account. Further, many employees find checking accounts useful for direct deposit of their paychecks.

  • Your CBC mortgage is now visible and available for transfer payment in Online Banking.

  • When logged into online banking, your CBC home loan(s) may be temporarily not visible due to the platform conversion. If this is the case, nothing is wrong with your account. Your loan account(s) will be visible shortly.   

Enhanced Fraud Alerts

At CBC, our members’ security is always at the top of our minds. That’s why we are making it even easier to manage any potential fraud on your CBC debit or credit cards.

Starting on Monday, November 4th if we notice any suspicious activity on your card, we’ll send you a request to verify by text from CBC shortcode 21556 or by email from noreply@cbcfcu.org.
