As we move halfway through 2021, I am happy to report that CBC is stronger than ever! We are working on so many exciting things as we move into the second half of the year. We continue to focus on Inspiring financial happiness for our members by providing top-notch service to each person we help. Our 69th Annual Meeting was held virtually on June 24th and we were happy to report on one of our strongest years ever. As we continue to grow and offer more products and services, we also have focused on streamlining our efforts at our branches. For the better part of 70 years, we have had a branch on the Navy Base at Port Hueneme. In the last several years and after many meetings and studies, we decided to close our Port Hueneme and Point Mugu branches permanently. This decision was made for many reasons, but primarily because being on the military bases was making access to our branch more and more difficult for our members. Our ultimate goal is to expand into other communities in the areas where our members are. Although we are sad to see our oldest branch go, we are so excited to see what the future brings for CBC, our members, and our community. At the beginning of June, CBC was proud to host the first-ever CU Strategy Forum, where Credit Unions from all over the country gathered in Ventura County to discuss the future of our industry, current trends and share ideas. We are so excited and proud to be able to bring key players into our hometown and facilitate this type of discussion.CBC is also proud to announce the launch of our brand new website! A sleek, modern look and feel make it easier than ever to find information on the products and services you are interested in. Don’t worry though; online banking and access to your CBC accounts are not changing at all. As you can probably tell, we have been busy and CBC and we continue to push to innovate in providing the best service, top-notch products for our members as well as being a good steward for our community. As always, I thank you for your membership at CBC and if you have any questions, please reach out to us at 805.988.2151. She found out about CBC Federal Credit Union from her husband after relocating from LA to Ventura County. When we asked Raquel what she enjoys most about her role at CBC she responded, “Best part of working here at CBC is the great group of individuals I have built a friendship with throughout the years, the mentoring from leaders who support and challenge you to go the next level, and foremost I am a true believer of Our Vision: To inspire financial happiness one member at a time.”In the future, Raquel looks forward to developing management skills to help better serve our members. In her free time, Raquel loves making memories with her family and enjoying a good movie and cup of coffee with friends. If you see her in our Oxnard branch location, make sure to say hi! Community Snapshot As the community continues to open up, the CBC team has continued to be an active participator in several ways. We conducted our very first covid compliant Shred Day and we were able to serve our members and community with secure onsite shredding. In addition, our branches often donate to local community partners. CBC was happy to provide donations to the Montalvo Little League team Ducks, Young Athletes for Christ (Y.A.C), and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Our giving is guided by the impact on our community and members but not just limited to financial resources. Financial education is just another way we support the community at large. We are proud to conclude this school year at Oxnard College by providing financial education workshops to the First-Year Experience students at OC. These workshops covered essential topics, such as Credit and Credit Scores, Budgeting, and Financial Planning. We look forward to getting back out there in full force as soon as it is safe to do so.
