Rick Weber, President and CEO of CBC Federal Credit Union
Rick Weber – President & CEO

As we move out of summer and into the fall months, I cannot help but think about how thankful I am to each CBC member for trusting us to help you achieve your financial happiness for more than 70 years! CBC is committed to being your trusted financial resource and Credit Union.

Lately, savers have been enjoying all-time high dividends on their money and that is no different at CBC. Our Term Share Certificates are the perfect way to tackle your savings goals and our rates are extremely competitive. Pairing your Term Share Certificate with an Epic Premium Checking account gets you an even better rate!

As I mentioned this last quarter, I want to reiterate how excited we are about moving back into the east county with a new Simi Valley location! Slated for a November launch, our new full-service branch will have all the services including shared branching, insurance services, and wealth management services. We will also be introducing new DMV services where you will be able to take care of things like license renewals, name changes, and address updates, all without the DMV line.

Planning on tackling a going-green home improvement project? CBC can help! With constantly rising electricity rates and frequent flex alerts, solar is becoming an increasingly common option for many Ventura County homeowners. CBC’s Eco Loan is designed to help you put solar panels on your house along with many other green and eco-friendly home improvements. Ask one of our knowledgeable team members about an Eco Loan and how CBC can help you and your house be more efficient than ever.

As always, we appreciate your membership and it’s our pleasure to serve you with the best products, services, and experience that make your financial journey a success. We look forward to many more years of serving you!

CBC Is Coming to Simi Valley!

CBC is officially coming to Simi Valley! We are so excited to announce that we are currently building a new, full-service branch in Simi Valley. Our new branch will come with a Dunkin’ café (much like our Camarillo location). We are aiming to open our branch for all your financial needs this November and Dunkin’ will be opening just a few months after!

Just like all of our locations, we welcome you to see us in Simi Valley for everything pertaining to your CBC accounts to Wealth Management and Insurance Services. This new branch will also boast a drive-thru ATM and Shared Branching services, which includes serving members from other credit unions.

An amazing new feature coming to Simi Valley is DMV services! You will be able to skip the line at the DMV and use our friendly pros to help with renewing your license, processing a name change, and updating your address! Although the DMV services do not yet have a release date, we are working hard to begin providing this to our members as quickly as possible. Keep an eye out for more communications soon about DMV services at CBC!

More information about the launch of our new Simi Valley location will be coming shortly. When the time comes, we hope you stop by for a coffee, donut, and amazing member service from the CBC team this November. We will see you in Simi Valley soon!

Markets are Volatile – Do You Have a Plan?

It’s no secret that the equity and fixed income markets have had a rough year. With the S&P500 being down over 20% year-to-date, many investors are concerned about the well-being of their financial futures.

Dustin Tondreau, CBC Wealth Advisor, says he’s seen many investors making ill-advised decisions in the current economic state over the past 9 months.

“I’ve seen a lot of investors this year locking in losses on their long-term investments based on fear and, often enough, due to their current advisor’s inability to provide them with the detailed Financial Planning that they’re in need of.”

The CBC Wealth Management Advisors take a comprehensive approach to Financial Planning. We offer a personalized experience and wholistic portfolio management depending on your financial goals and concerns. Through LPL Financial, we provide a vast array of products and services for you and your family.

Like many situations in life, there’s no one size fits all. Whether you’re currently managing your own finances or have a relationship with a Financial Advisor, we encourage you to take the time to sit down with our financial professional, Dustin, to better understand the opportunities you may have for greater potential growth.

Beach Clean Up with Surfrider Foundation

On September 17th, CBC FCU joined with Ventura County’s Surfrider Foundation’ and participated in Coastal Clean Up Day. CBC team members enjoyed a day out in the sun by visiting Ventura Beach to help keep our coast clean from trash, debris, and plastic. An interesting find of the day was a student of the month award dated from 2013! Our efforts assisted to maintain a safe and healthy environment in our communities.
